Painting: The Meeting on Turret Stairs by Frederic William Button (1864)

I was searching here and there,

I was searching everywhere,

And one day I found her,

In the midst of nowhere.

She is Maya,

A dusky skinned one,

Her soul is so pure,

Which shines like a sun.

Her eyes are like an ocean,

That forces me to drown,

Her pink lips are so beautiful,

Even when they frown.

She looked like a virgin forest,

Green and lush from far,

But when I came close to her,

I find her full of scar.

The scars were a sign,

Of both pleasure and of pain,

Sometimes they were a boon for me,

And sometimes they were a bane.

But when love makes you blind,

You won't see any scar,

It doesn't matter whether you are near,

Or miles afar.

I am madly in love with her,

For whatever she is,

She is a sea pearl,

That I cannot afford to miss.

I have realised that the world without her,

Is full of lies,

I have seen my complete destruction,

In her brown eyes.

Destroy me my lady,

Or atleast give it a try,

Spoil me with your love,

Kill me before I die.
